Infrastructure Op Eng III

In this role you will design, build, test, implement, and support our technology infrastructure in accordance with the best practices and strategic direction.  You may also be providing leadership and guidance for first and second level infrastructure support to serve the user community. 

  • Design, build, test, implement, and support technology infrastructure, including network, server, storage, and cloud based solutions, in accordance with the best practices and technology.
  • Design and implement on premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure solutions for a variety of internal and external facing applications
  • Create and maintain documentation related to existing technology architecture, problem resolution, and process/procedures
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, hypervisor, server, and storage resources. Identify opportunities to extend and enhance service delivery.
  • Infrastructure Project work as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Manager
  • Progress our Automation and IaC practice
  • Lead disaster recovery effort, including related planning and ongoing administration to define appropriate policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership for network and systems administration, support, and enhancement of existing and new infrastructure solutions.
  • Work with internal IT staff and/or vendor to determine resolution to system failures, providing a root cause analysis, and recommend action plan for the future.
  • Define, in partnership with other members of IT, the architectural vision for technology solutions, including development and ongoing enhancements with respect to technology and business practices and focus on standardizing IT infrastructure.
  • Partner with technology vendors to ensure ability to meet service level agreements and effective installation and maintenance of appropriate technology solutions, including telephone system, computer hardware and software, and networks.

 

What you will bring to the role:

    • 5+ years of experience in an Infrastructure engineering and support role.
    • Deep technical expertise and experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments and solutions required.  Equivalent AWS experience with willingness to work in Azure environment will be considered.
    • Experience with automation and scripting associated with server deployment and configuration management.  Expertise in at least one administrative scripting language, preferably PowerShell or JSON required.
    • Experience with building systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaS), preferably via Microsoft ARM templates or TerraForm.   
    • Experience with CI/CD Deployment Tools, preferably Azure DevOps (ADO)
    • Experience with containerization technology, preferably Docker and AKS.
    • Deep technical expertise in at least one of the following Microsoft technologies – Active Directory/AAD, DNS/DHCP, SCCM/Intune, Defender/ATP, Office 365
    • Proficient in cloud security concepts, strategies, and best practices.
    • Experience with managing and supporting most Azure Resource types, including Azure App Service, LogicApps, FunctionApps, VNET, VM, Storage Account, APIM, Azure SQL Database, Azure Managed Instance, PrivateLink, Application Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSG, Cosmos DB, and Service Bus.
    • Experience with Azure Resource Manager and related Azure features, including IAM, Azure Site Recovery, RunBooks, Automation Accounts, Azure Migrate, and Log Analytics    
    • Proficient in HA/DR concepts, strategies, and best practices.
    • Familiar with general concepts and configuration of SIEM solutions   
    • Proficient in Windows or Linux administration
    • Experience working with infrastructure and application monitoring systems (Solarwinds, Nagios, App Insights, New Relic, etc.)
    • Expertise in at least one of the following technologies – Pure Storage, Rubrik, Cisco ASAv/NGFW, Cloudflare.
    • MS Dynamics365 administration experience a plus
    • MS SQL Server Database Administration experience a plus
    • Knowledge of ITIL standards a plus, including concepts surrounding Change and Problem management
    • Ability to troubleshoot and support web applications (IIS, .NET, WordPress).
    • Deep understanding of network, server, and storage concepts. TCP/IP, load balancing, virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing
    • Network configuration and troubleshooting experience (TCP/IP, routing, SNMP, VPN, VLAN, Wireless)
    • Knowledge and/or experience with patch management.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and support Line of Business and BackOffice products and solutions.
    • Ability to understand and analyze complex issues and information relating to database management.
    • Strong problem-solving ability and sound business judgment in assessing and prioritizing multiple competing opportunities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and finesse, including public speaking to small and large groups in ad-hoc and formal settings.
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
    • Effective meeting facilitation and consensus building.
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple, concurrent tasks, as well as prioritize actions as opportunities evolve.
    • Project management experience desired
    • Knowledge, experience, and ability to travel, domestically and internationally, including weekends and/or holidays.
    • Bachelor’s degree, with focus in computer science beneficial; equivalent experience may be considered. Demonstrated knowledge of current technologies.
