Cyber Security Analyst
firstPro is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst who will assist in enterprise-wide security assessments for our client, a leading distributer of specialty building materials in the United States. This individual will participate in the security review and risk assessment process for new initiatives, projects, technologies, and safeguards to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements. This is a hybrid, contract to hire position, with a home office in Hammonton, NJ. Compensation for this role is $30/ hour.
Responsibilities
- Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies and standards and external regulations
- Ensures systems' security by conducting audits, monitoring reports and evaluating threats
- Researches, recommends, and evaluates security and privacy products, devices and methodologies
- Assistances with the selection and implementation of computer security systems and tools
- Evaluates software applications to ensure security adherence
- Configures software parameters to comply with business and regulatory security and privacy requirements
- Analyzes the results of various security scans, process appraisals and other improvement efforts
- Creates actionable reports, document, and track action plans in support of security improvement efforts
- Performs and manages the implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls
- Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices, research, malicious code reverse engineering, penetration testing, and threat intelligence
- Assists in performance and coordination of Security Incident Response activities
- Monitors and analyzes logs from various systems, ensuring audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data is reviewed and actionable.
- Performs periodic and on demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system, external web integrity, and certificates to determine compliance
- Provide clear communications to management on various cyber activity
- Monitors and maintains systems and procedures to protect data from unauthorized users
- Coordinates with users to discuss issues such as access needs, security violations, and security training needs
- Works closely with 3rd party partners to secure data and assets
- Provides organizational wide cyber security oversight leveraging a comprehensive and sustainable governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) framework and IT security policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures
Job Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of IT experience, prefer some security management and operations experience
- Security +, Network + certifications strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Experience with Security tools and technologies
- Demonstrated ability leading security-based projects
