Junior Project Manager/ Project Coordinator
firstPRO is looking for a Jr. IT Project Manager/ Project Coordinator for our client, who has a strong foothold in the legal industry. The person who is hired will drive projects from initial vision through to completion while working with a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders. This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity with home offices located in Center City, Philadelphia, so candidates must live within a commutable distance. Compensation is up to $40/ hour based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers and Information Technology Management to identify project scope, budget, goals, and timelines.
- Analyze project performance data and quantifies project benefits in a way that will enable the objective evaluation of projects against firm objectives, and thereby aid project approval decision-making.
- Facilitate the definition of project missions, goals, tasks, and resource requirements; resolves or assists in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas; develops methods to monitor project and progress; and provides corrective supervision if necessary.
- Establish and adhere to project budget; seek opportunities to improve project efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations.
- Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to appropriate levels of management.
- Follow a defined and agreed upon project management methodology.
- Develop work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
- Provide direction and guidance with respect to project activities to members of other departments.
- Create and document project management policies and procedures.
- Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implements changes.
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of comparable experience, leading multiple, medium to large-scale, enterprise-wide IT project initiatives in a complex environment
- 3 years of experience working on projects involving the implementation of project life cycle methodologies in a software development or infrastructure environment, working with enterprise Project Portfolio Management tools in a leadership capacity
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Project, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Professional Reader, JIRA, WebEx, Confluence
- Professional Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
- Recommended: Scrum Master (or SAFe), Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), and/ or ITIL
