Financial Systems Project Manager
firstPRO is seeking a Project Manager who has experience working with financial systems to be responsible for providing end-to-end project management and leadership for managing complex and high risks projects for our customer, who has a strong foothold in the building products industry. This is a work from home position, but our client prefers someone on EST since they are located out of Hammonton, NJ. Compensation for this position is up to $80/ hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees projects with the goal of achieving project success in the areas of Scope, Schedule, Budget and realized Benefits
- Identifies project options, develops business cases, and secures required approvals
- Leads requirements gathering and planning process, working closely with key stakeholders
- Defines the appropriate project scope, aligned to corporate strategies
- Identifies and manages critical paths, being mindful of upstream and downstream dependencies
- Ensures coordination with other key initiatives, and addresses and resolves project conflicts
- Develops project plans, key milestone schedules, and cost/benefit analysis
- Manages project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and tracks actuals
- Reviews actuals versus planned budget throughout project lifecycle to identify variances and recommends corrective action
- Tracks and manages the project schedule and its dependencies
- Facilitates PMO level reviews of the project status and health
- Ensures issues and risks are managed, mitigated, and communicated to senior leadership
- Applies change management process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required for our change initiatives
- Understands and manages the scope of small and medium sized projects, considering business requirements, budget, resources, and capabilities
- Works with IT and Business partners to identify and schedule all the work for end-to-end deployment required to fulfill the project requirements
- Ensures project milestones are accomplished and overall committed timelines are met
- Communicates updates on major milestones and keeps all stakeholders informed of progress and issues
- Identifies and manages proposed changes to projects, working with business stakeholders and project managers to ensure appropriate processes and communications are followed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or IT
- 5+ years of Project management experience
- 3+ years of experience in technical IT role (SQL Development, DBA, Programmer, Application Support, System Administrator)
- Experience managing projects related to finance and accounting applications (ERP, Financial Management, AP, AR)
- Familiarity with a broad range of Technologies (Applications e.g., ERP, Finance& Accounting, Logistics)
- Experience with Concur, Billtrust, or Oracle Financial Management a plus
- Expert knowledge and experience using agile development methodologies to deliver code updates
- PMP certification preferred
- Six Sigma certification and or experience in using the process improvement methodology and improvement tools preferred
- Change management certification preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Experience with either Agile or waterfall project management techniques
- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to direct multiple projects in parallel in a highly matrix, fast-paced, multi-site organization experiencing rapid growth
- Ability to map related tasks into a plan and communicate interdependencies with other projects and programs
- Ability to track and coordinate resources and tasks across multiple organizations and/or projects
