firstPRO is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst who will assist in our client’s enterprise-wide security assessments and perform advanced analytics and device manipulation and control in support of security operations. This is a hybrid position, and candidate will need to be on-site at least twice per week, so will need to live within a commutable distance to Hammonton, NJ. This is a six-month contract role with compensation up to $50/ hr., based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies and standards and external regulations
  • Ensures systems' security by conducting audits, monitoring reports, and evaluating threats
  • Evaluates software applications to ensure security adherence
  • Configures software parameters to comply with business and regulatory security and privacy requirements
  • Analyzes the results of various security scans, process appraisals and other improvement efforts
  • Creates actionable reports, document, and track action plans in support of security improvement efforts
  • Performs periodic and on demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system, external web integrity, and certificates to determine compliance
  • Provide clear communications to management on various cyber activity
  • Understand client’s technology footprint, strategic growth plans, business drivers, and technology strategy.
  • Work with vendors, partners, and team to establish and achieve project goals
  • Ability to recommend remediation actions to mitigate valid findings
  • Thorough understanding of Windows and Linux based Operating Systems, networking (TCP/IP, Ports, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP), Switch / Router configuration, and Security
  • Recognize and safely utilize attacker tools, tactics, and procedures
  • Identification of application, system, and network vulnerabilities,
  • Identify gaps in IT security guidance, and assessment of patching/mitigation methodologies.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend security and privacy products, devices, and methodologies.
  • Work as the liaison between clients, business leads, functional leads, SME’s (subject matter experts), application analysts, developers, and other technical team members to assist and document solutions to complex business problems
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in each area of the project and provides guidance as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of IT experience, prefer some security operations and project management experience
  • Security +, Network + certifications strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Experience with Security tools and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability leading security-based projects
