Job Description
As a Staff Data Architect, you will assume responsibility for comprehending the business objectives across multiple enterprise programs and devising a strategy to ensure successful implementation. This strategy will leverage technological insights to enhance the value of analytical data, improve information stewardship effectiveness, and streamline data flow within the organization. You will be responsible for defining technology roadmaps for maintaining and modernizing existing systems, as well as developing new integrations and systems. Your role will be crucial in the integration efforts to merge Data Engineering & Analytics platforms with enterprise systems and applications. Furthermore, you will be recognized as a thought leader in the data domain and entrusted with the mentorship and development of talent and delivery capabilities.

• Effectively lead teams throughout the entire data engineering lifecycle, including design, development, testing, release, and support, based on detailed requirements.
• Stay informed about emerging technology trends and develop a roadmap while gaining consensus with Senior IT Leadership.
• Foster innovation by staying up to date with the rapidly evolving Data Engineering landscape and sharing knowledge within the team.
• Define and maintain the data engineering strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Senior IT Leadership.
• Collaborate with Senior and Mid-Level Management to align business process initiatives and strategies with the current and planned Data Engineering & Analytics Architecture.
• Take the lead in the discovery and decision-making process when changes to standards and technology are necessary, such as tools, conventions, and design patterns.
• Evaluate Data Engineering & Analytics Tools/Techniques/Approaches and third-party packages to determine their impact on strategic objectives and manage their implementation.
• Clearly articulate the architectural differences between solution methods and present the advantages and disadvantages of each.
• Collaborate with product owners, facilitating working sessions to acquire and understand requirements and acceptance criteria, and translating them into technical requirements.
• Provide recommendations for conceptual designs and architecture, delivering results for multiple medium to large complex projects within set timelines and budgets.
• Play a key role in developing data security and data governance guidelines.
• Develop training curriculum to ensure team members stay up to date on techniques, processes, and technology.
• Provide constructive input and development opportunities for team members, reporting to department management.
• Conduct interviews for new hires.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent years of software development experience is required.
• A minimum of 14 years of overall technology experience is required.
• At least 12 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Master Data Management, Reference Data Management, Data Lineage, Data Governance, and Meta Data Management is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in defining Data & Analytics architecture and implementing multiple large technology projects is required.
• Expertise in relational SQL and NoSQL databases is required.
• 5+ years of experience working with Agile teams is preferred.
• Experience with tools such as Kafka, ERWIN, ER Studio, QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau, Talend, and BODS.
• Proficiency in designing, validating, and implementing multiple projects across hybrid infrastructure (On-cloud to On-Premise and vice versa).
• Experience in seamlessly integrating enterprise data models with data models of packaged solutions (e.g., Oracle Apps, Workday, SAP, Service Now).
• Familiarity with message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
• Strong analytical skills related to working with complex datasets.
• Expert knowledge of appropriate design frameworks and patterns, with practical experience in their implementation.
• Ability to consistently stay informed about industry-wide technology strategies and best practices.
• Effective communication of highly technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
• Experience in prioritizing technology needs within budget requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
