Responsibilities:

• • Act as the primary point of responsibility for a new 100+ user Horizon VDI environment, overseeing infrastructure, support, storage, and security.
  • Set up and maintain Production and DR environments, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Solve issues in the VDI environment, including profile and home directory concerns.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Monitor system performance and resources, proactively addressing any potential issues.
  • Conduct monthly patching activities, keeping systems up to date and secure.
  • Build and update VDI images using VMware Horizon, maintaining a streamlined and efficient virtual desktop environment.
  • Perform Windows and VMware administration tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the overall system.
  • Manage user accounts, ensuring access permissions align with security protocols.
  • Oversee quota management, optimizing storage resources for efficient operations.
  • Administer Group Policy Objects (GPO) to maintain system integrity and compliance.
  • Act as a backup and additional resource for other Administrators, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff, sharing your knowledge and contributing to their professional development.

Requirements:

• • Proven expertise in Windows 2019 administration, VMware, and patch management using WSUS and other engines.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and/or Cortex XDR is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with PureStorage and VMware Horizon is a significant advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in resolving issues within VDI environments.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
